Bunkspeed’s HyperShot Enables True Design

Bunkspeed’s renderer might just be the 3D graphics program that industrial designers can love.

"In many ways it is the perfect tool for our field,” says Matt Grossman of Design Edge. “Other 3D software has failed in this area because it literally does too much, is therefore expensive, and has a huge learning curve. HyperShot doesn’t do every conceivable thing, with checkboxes for every imaginable option,” Grossman says, “but it does what we want, and it does it near perfect every time. In that way, HyperShot is a really good wrench. Perhaps most importantly, its rendering speed has given us much more time for design, which is the business we’re in.”

The learning curve is almost non-existent,” says John Jacobsen of Smart Design, which has created iconic designs for clients such as OXO, Hewlett-Packard, Corning, Acer, and Kellogg’s. “It’s like a web browser. You get immediate results. A complex image that takes 10 hours with other 3D software can be completed in two hours with HyperShot. A designer’s role is to design, not render. At the end of the day, we want to deliver high-end renderings quickly, without the pain.”
